The chair of the Deutsche Bundesbank guest professorship at the Department of Economics was established by a Foundation of the Deutsche Bundesbank in 1987.

The Chair supported by the Foundation is held, on an annual or semester basis, by internationally renowned academics in the fields of monetary theory and policy and international finance.
