Project 4: Labour market regulations

The research project investigates firm responses to labour market regulations across three interconnected parts.

Part 1 systematically analyses non-compliance with minimum wage regulations in Germany, examining prevalence across industries and regions.

Part 2 explores firm-level adjustments to minimum wage increases. Exploring administrative data from Montenegro, the project evaluates the effect of a massive MW reform on employment, wages, and shifts to the informal sector.

Part 3 examines the effects of extending collective bargaining coverage in Germany's long-term care sector, analyzing impacts on labour supply, demand, care quality, and pricing.

The overall objective is to better understand how firms respond to labour market regulations and whether these responses enable or hinder intended improvements in working conditions.
