Project description:
The ZUFO project aims to develop a concretization of the future idea / vision of Future Food while considering multidimensional sustainability in its complexity. Thereby, ZUFO also aims to bring unintended consequences into the open and to find development options along identified risks. This perspective is currently less addressed in research as well as in practice. Methodologically, ZUFO builds on insights from the Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) literature to design a multi-stage Delphi survey, which aims to enhance the taking of responsibility for sustainability issues during Foresight activities. The method is tested with German experts from the public and private sector to examine potential changes in the socio-technical agri-food system in Germany, which are commonly portrayed as desirable. The results could serve as the basis for a sustainable development of the F4F project beyond the fifth year and identify the development options and their timing by the use of a roadmap.
