Prof. Elke Schüßler was invited to present our Garment Supply Chain Governance Project to a tripartite delegation from Bangladesh in Berlin on 21st of April 2016. The delegation's visit to Germany was initiated by the German Employment Injury Association (Deutsche Gesetzliche Unfallversicherung, DGUV) who, together with the German Ministry of Development, aims to facilitate a process in Bangladesh that leads to the implementation of an employment injury system. At the event, hosted by the DGUV, employer and employee representatives from the Bangladeshi garment industry, the Joint Secretary, Bangladeshi Ministry of Labour and Employment, together with their German counterparts, discussed possibilities for the introduction of such a system.
