As a first important step to our research in Bangladesh a stakeholder workshop was held in Dhaka. The objective of this event was to inform representatives from the Bangladeshi garment industry as well as the Government about our project and lay the groundwork for the upcoming surveys.

 

Besides various representatives from the Bangladeshi garment industry, Accord, BILS, and CARE, Labor Secretary Mikail Shipar took part in this event. The speeches and feedback given by the participants will inform our study. Not least was the overall event a great networking opportunity. The workshop was jointly organized by Simeen Mahmud, Naila Kabeer, Shahidur Rahman, Kazi Mahmudur Rahman, and Steve Frenkel.
