Michael Tran is a Ph.D. candidate in Economics at Freie Universität Berlin (FU) and at the Berlin School of Economics (BSoE). He joined the chair as a research assistant in January 2024.

He holds a M.Sc. in Economics from FU Berlin. During his studies, Michael already worked as a student assistant at the chair of econometrics and taught undergraduate students in math and econometrics. After graduation, he joined the research project "Linking National and Regional Income Inequality" at the University of Bonn before returning to FU Berlin and the BSoE in October 2023 as a Ph.D. student.

His research interests are topics in empirical macroeconomics.
