A conference on The Distribution of Income and Wealth, and the Future of the Welfare State will be held in Berlin on June 22nd and 23rd, 2020. We welcome submissions on economic inequality and consumption risk as well as the resulting challenges and perspectives for the policies and institutions of the welfare state. Both empirically oriented research and applied theoretical research will be considered.
We aim at about 10 presentations which will be selected on the basis of submitted papers, although extended abstracts may also be evaluated. Papers or extended abstracts should be sent by email to the organizers of the conference. Volunteers for discussants are also welcome. Submissions close on January 31st, 2020. The program will be announced by February 28th, 2020.
The conference is organized by Giacomo Corneo (Giacomo.Corneo@fu-berlin.de), Ronnie Schöb (Ronnie.Schoeb@fu-berlin.de) and Holger Lüthen (Holger.Luethen@fu-berlin.de) as a supporting event of the Ph.D.-program on “Public Economics and Inequality” (http://www.wiwiss.fu-berlin.de/en/forschung/promotionskolleg/index.html) of the Freie Universitaet Berlin and the Hans-Böckler-Foundation. The conference venue is on the beautiful Berlin island of Schwanenwerder. It will start at 2 p.m. on June 22nd and end at about 6 p.m. on the day after.
Travel (economy fare with a cap) and accommodation expenses for presenters of accepted papers will be covered.
