Prof. Christiane Baumeister

Guest Professor in Winter 2024/25
Christiane Baumeister is the Lambert Family Professor of Economics at the University of Notre Dame. She is an empirical macroeconomist whose research focuses on the dynamics of energy markets and the transmission of monetary policy. Much of her recent work is concerned with Bayesian inference in structural vector autoregressive models. Her research has been published in Econometrica, the American Economic Review, the American Economic Journal: Macroeconomics, the Journal of Monetary Economics, and the Review of Economics and Statistics, among other scholarly journals. She is a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research and a Research Fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Research. She currently serves as Associate Editor for the Journal of Monetary Economics and she is a consultant at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. She also holds positions as Research Professor at the Research Center of Deutsche Bundesbank and the University of Pretoria.
In the Winter Semester 2024/25, Christiane Baumeister will teach the Master & PhD course "Topics in Empirical Macroeconomics".
