Analysis of Regional Research Potentials in Berlin
Analysis of Regional Research Potentials in Berlin
- Project description:
The federal state of Berlin holds a special nationwide position because of its extraordinary concentration of research institutions in many fields. The identification of focus areas as well as a differentiated examination of regional actor- and cooperation structures are important qualifications for structured advancement of the existing potential. On behalf of the Einstein Stiftung Berlin, the Department of Innovation Management of FU Berlin is conducting an extensive study for the analysis of regional research potential. Based on a multi-method approach (Publication-, Patent-, Third-party funds- and Network analysis, expert interviews and workshops), strengths and weaknesses of Berlin as a science location are analyzed comparatively. Furthermore, it will be examined how a leading position can be achieved or developed through suitable development strategies, in which fields, and with the help of which actors.
