Obtaining External Expertise
At Freie Universität Berlin, the regular external quality assessment of a degree program is carried out by means of the so-called expert discussions, with the purpose of assessing the topicality and appropriateness of subject-related and content-related aspects.
External representatives, students, and representatives of professional practice critically assess the subject standards, the coherence of the content of the study program, the coherence of the course structure, and the relevance of a course to the labor market.
Every five years, the review is conducted as an on-site visit or video conference with external and internal participants. Afterwards, the assessments and recommendations of the external experts are discussed within the department, in particular with student members, and, if necessary, translated into measures.
All study programs of the School of Business and Economics have been fully accredited since November 2016 and bear the quality seal of the German Accreditation Council.
The binding procedural steps of all quality assurance processes are continuously implemented and documented, so that a complete internal accreditation is guaranteed from September 2023 for another 8 years.
