Let us introduce you to the School of Business & Economics! On this site you can find facts and figures that represent us:
1. Students
A total of 2.608 students currently study at the School – 1.509 in the area of business administration and 960 in the area of economics. There are also 139 doctoral students, who conduct research for their dissertations.
The School includes 21 percent of international students, either degree-seeking or on a temporary study exchange.
2. Lecturers and Supporting Staff
32 professors, including assistent and junior professors, teach and conduct research at the School. They are supported by 79 doctoral researchers. In addition, 28 staff members and 69 student assistents work administratively at the School, thereby supporting its teaching, learning, and research. All members of the School will guide you responsibly on your path to a degree!
3. Departments
The School of Business & Economics consists of five departments.
Four departments are in the area of business administration: the Department of Finance, Accounting and Taxation, the Management Department, the Marketing Department, and the Department of Information Systems.
The Department of Economics is in the area of economics. Additionally, the Deutsche Bundesbank professorship has since 1987 been affiliated with the area of economics.
4. Applicants
The School of Business & Economics only admits new students for each winter semester. These are the figures from the winter semester 2023/24:

7. Third-Party Funding
Here you find a summary of the amount of third-party funded projects at the School of Business & Economics. Third-party funding is money that does not come from the budget provided by the ministry but is acquired by the lecturers for special research projects. Major third-party funding institutions are first and foremost the German Research Foundation (DFG), other foundations, but also private companies.

The School of Business & Economics distinguishes itself in externally financed research through a large number of projects that are financially supported by renowned German sponsors with strict expert review procedures, some through the German Research Foundation (DFG), which constitutes the largest and most important provider of external financing in the country.
