Robust efficiency in Airline Resource Schedules
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG)
The project deals with the robust and cost-efficient scheduling of aircraft and crews in the airline industry. Novel mathematical models and optimization techniques shall be developed in order to construct airline resource schedules that are not only cost-efficient but also stable and flexible with regard to operational disruptions. Additional work deals with an existing air traffic simulation framework that shall be refined by a realistical delay generator and practical recovery techniques. An intelligent data analysis of historical delay data and a subsequent derivation of decision rules and statistical distributions for delay risks enable an evaluation of resource schedules close to reality.
