Workshop 5 Years After Rana Plaza: Consequences for Labor Standards Improvements in Garment Supply Chains at Freie Universität Berlin
News vom 04.04.2018
Together with King’s College London the Garment Supply Chain Governance Project is organizing a workshop on 5 Years After Rana Plaza: Consequences for Labor Standards Improvements in Garment Supply Chains at Freie Universität Berlin. The workshop intends to remember the 5th year anniversary of the collapse of the Rana Plaza factory building in Bangladesh and reflect on its consequences.
We invited leading scientists to present their research on the governance of labor standards in the global garment industry (see here for our call for papers) and received many promising submissions. Now we look forward to fruitful discussions on this important topic (see here for our program).
In order to bring together the academic and civil society discussion, our conference will start with a panel discussion. Here we have invited experienced practitioners working improvements in working conditions in the garment industry. We look forward to learn from and discuss with them.
The workshop will take place at Freie Universität Berlin, School of Business & Economics, Garystraße 21, Room 103, 14195 Berlin on Friday 27 April and Saturday 28 April 2018.
